Every year on January 25, the Vigan City Fiesta is celebrated in honor of St. Paul the Apostle, the city's patron saint. Locals and tourists alike flock to witness and participate in street dance, carnivals, culinary festivals, and arts and crafts, all of which add to the allure of this UNESCO World Heritage City. The Vigan City Fiesta is usually held over a few days. It involves the commemoration of Vigan's cityhood anniversary, which takes place every January 27.
I would remember from time to time when I and my family would watch the Street dancers as pass, go to the carnival and ride all the rides, then go to the food fair where we rest and eat foods that are only available when the fiesta is there.
We wouldn't be able to experience this year but let us not be discouraged because the fiesta shall go on within our hearts and let the traditions continue.

ReplyDeleteHi there! I appreciate your post about the “Vigan City Fiesta Celebration in the New Normal”, yes, it’s true that the celebration is really an amazing one, coz it will be a great event, but due to this pandemic, then it’s so sad to note that it will not push through on the said date, but our officials are planning to go on with it, coz' it is really important to be celebrated.
ReplyDeleteAs a Bigueno, I agree that it is these traditions and cultures that keep the fiesta spirit alive. But, even in these trying times, we must remember to commemorate this occasion in small ways. And the spirit of the fiesta lives on in our warm hearts, not just Biguenos but the whole Ilocandia rather!
ReplyDeleteGood Day! We may not experience festivals physically today, but as long as we can feel the spirit of fiestas in our hearts, we can celebrate it anyways!
